Flu Vaccine
Flu Season Is Just Around The Corner
2021-2022 flu vaccine will be available starting Monday, September 30. According to the CDC, “Routine annual influenza vaccination is recommended for all persons aged 6 months and older who do not have contraindications” (MMWR 2019, August 23). This includes pregnant women and people with medical conditions.
Influenza vaccines are given at your local health department office from 8:30am until 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, no appointment necessary.
The vaccine costs $45 for adults and we are able to file with some insurance companies. Medicaid and Medicare are also accepted. Children, ages 6 months through 18 years of age can receive the flu vaccine at no cost.
If you have a large group, such as an industry or agency or church group that needs the vaccine, please call your local health department to arrange for a nurse to come out and give the vaccine.
